Members - Do we have your Tax File Number (TFN)?
From 1 July 2008, if you have not provided us with your TFN, you will pay an additional 31.5% tax on all your concessional super contributions made since 1 July 2007 - including any future contributions. This means you could pay 46.5% tax on certain contributions. To avoid paying more tax than necessary, provide us with your TFN by no later than 5pm on Monday 30 June 2008.
Find out more on the implications of not providing your TFN. Providing your TFN is voluntary, and declining to quote your TFN is not an offence.
Supplying your TFN is easy. Just complete the online form.
Alternatively, you can call Asteron Client Services on one of the numbers at the bottom of this page or email us your TFN to super@asteron.com.au
Employers - Do we have your employees' TFNs?
It is very important that you provide us with an employee’s TFN by 5pm on Monday 30 June 2008, unless they have specifically requested that it be withheld. Otherwise you may be subject to penalties by the Commissioner of Taxation. Additionally, the employee will pay an additional 31.5% tax on concessional contributions made since 1 July 2007. This is in addition to the normal 15% contributions tax.
It’s easy to provide us with an employee’s TFN. You can:
